What types of companies does Absolute work with?

Host companies are really different from one to another. We work with multinational Fortune 500 companies as well as SMEs and successful start ups within different industries such as PR agencies, marketing agencies, press agencies, fashion houses, consulting, law firms, financial services and hospitality firms.

What happens if I don't get the internship that I want?

We guarantee all admitted students a placement in their choice of industry with a full-refund policy.

Will my internship be paid?

Summer Internships: most of our summer internships are unpaid. We cannot guarantee anyone a paid summer internship.
Spring and Fall Program: The chance to get paid is higher than during the summer program.

How many hours a week will I work?

Participants work an average of 40 hours per week. The majority of internships take place between 8 am and 6 pm. Positions in Finance probably start earlier but end earlier a well. Fashion internships have very variable working hours.

Do many students get re-hired by the company abroad after the internship or after graduation?

Absolute Internship has proved in the past that internships are the best way to secure a full time job for fresh graduates. More than 70% of our students have been offered to return to their internship or come back to a full-time position after graduation. However it depends on the host company's need and ability to hire a new employee, as well as the intern's performance and qualifications.

How do I apply?

1. Apply online by selecting the program, destination and industry of your interest.
2. Review Acceptance: Our Program Directors will review your application and notify about whether or not you have been accepted within 7 days.
3. Enroll in the Program you have been accepted by paying the required $500 program deposit
4. Interview(s) with Host Companies
5. Accept an offer

When should I apply?

We accept applications on a rolling admissions basis and the deadline to apply for the Summer Programs is 60 days prior the program start date. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first served basis, so we encourage you to apply as soon as you can.

Are the dates of the Summer Program flexible?

No, dates are not flexible. You must participate to the program on the dates listed on our Program Comparison page.

Are the dates of the Beijing and Shanghai Program flexible?

Yes, you can choose your starting date between September and May every year as well as the length of your internship (minimum of one month is required).

Do I get to choose a company or an industry?

Yes, we will interview you to learn more about your career goals and objectives, then match you with a host company that meets both your needs and the host company's needs. The matching process is personalized and we work one-on-one with all applicants, in order to achieve a good match. We will not place you in a host company, without the mutual agreement of both you and the host company.

What happens when I land at the airport?

The Absolute team will be waiting for you at the arrival gate and escort you to the Absolute housing.

How is the Absolute Housing like?

Accommodations are in single or double room depending on the destination. All Absolute housing is safe, clean, equipped with wireless and located in the city center with easy access to public transportation. Please visit the destination of your choice and read the housing page to find out more about the housing

If I am in a double room, how will you choose my roommate?

Before the commencement of the program we will send every participant a roommate questionnaire that, once analyzed, matches personalities. We rarely had roommate problems but be informed that if a problem occurs, our on-site staff will solve it.

What is included in the events and weekend excursions?

The program will cover all your transportation costs and entrance fees for the activities and excursions. Events and excursions are different depending on the destination but all of them include a guided tour of the city, a group dinner and a career development seminar. What kind of assistance will I receive during the program?

On-site Program Director and coordinators will be available 24 hours a day to personally assist you with everything from how to use the subway system to buying a local SIM card. Our staff is international and speaks at least three languages.

Will Absolute arrange my transportation in the destination so I can get to my work?

In every destination, all students will be given public transportation cards that will give you train, subway and bus rides to and from work.

Does Absolute Internship offers scholarship?

We do offer scholarships for the Programs. Please get in contact with a Program Advisor in order to get more information.

When is the payment due?

The program deposit fee is due prior enrollment in the program. The remaining amount of the program price must be paid 60 days prior the commencement date of your program.

How do I obtain a visa for the internship program I'm interested in?

The visa requirements are different from one location to another. Absolute will assist the applicant with the visa application process. Absolute will not sponsor students’ visas. Absolute Internship Programs are primarily designed for American, Australian, Canadian, Swiss and EU citizens so we are familiar with the visa requirements of those passport holders. Students of other nationalities must research visa requirements for their desired program destination prior entering the matching process. For summer internships in London, visas are required for all students except EU passport holders. Each student is responsible for all visa fees to the UK Border Agency (approximately 190-200 USD).
