Barcelona Program Activities and Networking


The Barcelona Internship Program provides exciting weekend events in order for you to make the most out of your time living in Spain. Although you will be working during the day, these events aim to give you full advantage of what the city has to offer. Event though your internship is the most important, it’s essential that you take advantage of living abroad. The events below are just a few examples of previous activities:

Guided Tour of the City

Bienvenidos a Barcelona! We will start this fantastic summer in Barcelona with a guided tour of the city. Visit the famous Gaudi’s monuments including Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell and Casa Mila. You will need to bring your camera as these places provides amazing opportunities to take photos you’ll never forget! We will also have the chance to visit the must-see Olympic Stadium before concluding the day with a delicious Spanish dinner!

 

Valencia

Explore Spain with a day trip to the third largest city – Valencia! Tourists from all around Europe are coming here to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We’ll enjoy a day visiting Llotja de la Seda, a Gothic-style building which is considered world historic site as well as the futuristic museum – City of Arts and Scieneces. We will conclude the day with dinner at the popular square of Plaça de l'Ajuntament.

 

Costa Brava

This weekend is all about the beach; enjoy a relaxing a day trip to the beautiful Spanish beaches of Tossa de Mar, a coastal resort on the Costa Brava. Tossa de Mar offers 3 outstanding beaches and are perfect for sunbathers. The beautiful underwater provides also opportunities to scuba dive and snorkel.

 

Wine Tour

Spain is globally famous for its great wine so you can’t go to Spain without learning more about it. This weekend we’ll visit one of the world’s most famous wine producer, Torres – a great cultural excursion as you’ll have the chance to learn more about the process of making wine, taste different types of wines and enjoy a typical Spanish meal in the outskirts of Barcelona.

 

Montserrat

This weekend we will visit the famous Royal Basilica, a prime tourist and cultural attraction as this place was considered home of the Holy Grail. The spectacularly beautiful Benedictine Monk retreat at Montserrat will offer you some of the most spectacular mountain views of Catalunya. The natural beauty surrounding the monastery is simply breathtaking – a must-see this summer!

 

Unsponsored Events

We want to help you build friendships and get acquainted with your new city. To help you, our Absolute staff will be planning unsponsored events for the entire group every week. These events are voluntary, but we recommend that you attend these as they will make sure that you will get to know your new city as well the host country.
