The London Internship Program provides exciting weekend events in order for you to make the most out of your time living in England. Although you will be working during the day, these events aim to give you full advantage of what the city has to offer. Event though your internship is the most important, it’s essential that you take advantage of living abroad. The events below are just a few examples of previous activities:
Guided Tour of the City Welcome to London! We will start this amazing summer in England with a guided tour of the city. Bring your camera, as the tour will show you the main attractions of the city. Enjoy the notorious Ben Ben, the Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and much more! After exploring the city by bus, you will be treated a classic British lunch!
Stonehenge & Bath You must visit this historical place in Stonehenge & Bath before leaving London! Stonehenge is a collection of stones dragged to this lonely plain near Salisbury over 3,000 years ago. Who built it? Why? Nobody knows but UNESCO’s added it to the World Heritage Sites many years ago. After visiting Stonehenge in the morning we will continue our day trip to Bath, a beautiful Georgian city where the Romans built amazing temples, taking baths and enjoying the beautiful views! Don’t forget your camera as this a great opportunity for photos!
Local Markets
Explore the many famous local markets in London together with our Absolute staff such as the Portobello Road Market, known for its famous antiques and handicrafts market, the Borough Market, popular food by London Bridge. Act like a real Londoner and buy yourself something exotic for dinner, or just taste what London has to offer! There is a range of food to discover! We will also make a stop at Brick Lane, famous for its Bangladeshi community and South Asian restaurants. Be sure to try their curry as its popular among the Londoners!
Tour Chelsea Football Club’s Stamford Bridge
Stamford Bridge is not to be missed, we’ll show you the home of the incredible Chelsea Football Club! First opened in 1877, the current stadium now has a seating capacity of 42,055. The fully guided tour will take you behind-the-scenes of one of the world's greatest football teams, giving you access to areas normally reserved for players and officials.
Unsponsored Events
We want to help you build friendships and get acquainted with your new city. To help you, our Absolute staff will be planning unsponsored events for the entire group every week. These events are voluntary, but we recommend that you attend these as they will make sure that you will get to know your new city as well the host country.
Group Dinners
Throughout the program, our Absolute staff will organize group dinners in various restaurants in the city center. This is a great way to get to know the amazing variety of international cuisine London has to offer! The last weekend, the group will be spending one final evening, dining, dancing all through the night before saying goodbye to each other. A night you won’t forget!
