Safety & Support
Since the Absolute staff provides 24-hour onsite support, you should be comforted that our compassionate and involved staff will be available if any emergency should occur. The onsite staff makes a concerted effort to ensure the students’ safety while promising not to restrict the students’ exposure to the host country. These staff will not only have ongoing contact with students but will also stay in touch with local embassies, governmental departments, and other International Programs. In addition, all Absolute Housing have 24-hour security.
Students can also play a crucial role in staying safe while abroad, which will be taught to them during their initial orientation. We will cover issues such as:
- Be smart about where you keep your valuables
- Always travel in groups and never venture out with strangers
- Students should avoid demonstrations of any kind
- You should never meet a stranger in an unknown location
The best advice for any world traveler is the use of common sense and to put up your guard to new people you meet, for there are many dangers associated with any large city that can be easily avoided by simple precautious measures.
Absolute takes the following measures to ensure your child’s safety:
- Trained staff available 24 hours a day
- Encourage a group environment that limits the risk of being alone
- Orientation to cover specific situations and how to avoid dangerous situations
- Prepared for life-threatening and non-life-threatening emergencies
If you have any questions or concerns, then please contact your son or daughter through communication channels you have set up before they go abroad. Also encourage them to get in touch with any of our program staff, for we are more than willing to help them. Do not worry if you have not heard from your student, for they may be working very hard or traveling with little time to talk or means to do so.
